Harley presents two totally different faces to the word. Two totally differently but equally beautiful facets of the same personality. Two totally differently but equally vital interpretations of what constitutes luxury. And the result is a simply breathtaking blend of modern design, and classic sensibilities. The table top is uniform in structure. A perfectly circular eucalyptus band, creates a deep margin around the circumference with deep natural grains creating a beautiful texture. At the centre of this margin sits a beautiful, flawless circular segment cast form luxurious smoked glass.
The classic palate of the eucalyptus margin being paired with the modern slant of the aged glass perfectly encapsulates the intent behind Harley’s design. But the transparent section has something even more important to offer. A glimpse at what lays below. This is where the table presents its two faces. In the most unexpected of places. The legs. The three legs are all cast of gold glowing brass segmenting the table and coming together below to provide the base. One side of the legs is left only with the aged brass framework. The other has been given a eucalyptus veneer face tying it together with the table top. From one side it’s blocked out and the wood gives it a distinctively classic appearance, only for you to move to the other side where the polished brass framework remains resolutely modern. It’s the combination that makes this piece as special as it is.
