Description
The beautiful and undulating sand dunes at Maranhao are formed by the meeting point of rivers and thousands of tons of sand that interact before entering the vast Atlantic Ocean. This natural spectacle on the coast of Brazil dazzles in its peculiarity but also its incredibly soothing effect upon our vision. The Mosa rug, whilst speaking to a sense of mid-century glamour in its curved form, takes the inspiration of this natural occurrence and elevates it to the level of innovative interior design.
The unavoidable feature of this piece that we must begin talking about is the magnificent lines that adorn the rugs vast surface. Undulating and organic in the way that they sprawl across the rugs exterior, these lines are cleverly twisted and distorted to create an illusory three-dimensional effect that draws the eyes into its world. The contrast of the pink background and the dark lines that make up the Mosa rug make this as much of a stand-out piece in any room as it is a light addition to any modern living space. The hand-tufted materiality of the ultra-thin viscose and bamboo rug gives this piece a feel that is as soft and silk-like as it is is sturdy and assured.
