Description
There is no greater mark of a full-fledged pursuit of stylistic perfection, than a complete and utter disregard for practicality. Dividers were created to afford its owner a degree of privacy that otherwise couldn’t be attained. There is nothing private, secret, or hidden about the marshmallow folding screen. And when a piece looks this good, you can understand why it doesn’t need to be hiding anything. While a divider that you can see through won’t do much to keep you hidden, it would certainly provide the perfect means of dividing a room. After all this is much more of centrepiece than anything else.
There is little more beautiful than the shadows that this piece casts across a room. Everything about its design form the rose lacquered wood finish, to the cut out curved panel design shouts art deco. It’s as if you’re transported back to the roaring twenties in an instant, but there’s definitely something distinctly modern to this design to. It’s hard to put your finger on what. Perhaps it’s the flat matte finish, providing a simple counterpoint to an otherwise extravagant piece. Or perhaps it’s the polished brass hinges and lining that give structure to a piece that looks so delicate that it might otherwise float away.
