The Beca does everything that it needs to do in a very small amount of space. That’s one of the most desirable and most defining features of modern design. Design that pays mind to the ever growing population, to an ever lessening of space, and the need to capitalise on that space, after all, nothing is more valuable than space. This piece truly will make the very most of any space it’s placed in, and you will hardly notice its presence at all until you look down at it. Fashioned in the shape of a small round drum, the Beca is covered on every side in a thick rich wrapping of luxuriously soft fabric.
The fabric sits atop a padding, which is emphasized by the small brass injections that dot the outside of the stool. One thin stitch runs up one face, across the surface and down the other, taking all of the pressure born of the sheer comfort that lies within. The brass lining remerges near the base of the piece providing a thin piping effect that runs around the circumference of the base of the drum. The stool gradually widens as it moves upwards before plateauing at the widest and therefore the most comfortable point.
