Description
Amongst the darker of the gemstones, the Obsidian stone has become famous for its ability to neutralise negative energy and promoting restful calm. Its colour inspires minds as much as its alluring form, ever evading its black colour as it plays in a range of colours in accordance with any light. The Orcapio stool utilises a varied collection of materials to resemble and elevate this effect into a gracious and luxurious addition to any living space.
The main draw of this elegant piece is the four expertly upholstered velvet shapes that form the central structure. Gradually getting lighter as your eyes follow the piece vertically, moving from black, to deep grey, to light grey and finally resting at white, this piece is a journey through monochrome and luxurious surfaces. The round curves of each of these panels resembles the smooth surfaces of the finest gems and provides a comforting presence for the visual field in any neutral living space. There is a delicate and very moving play between the two metals on display. Happening amongst all of this as well. The polished copper of the base is earthy in its tone but glamorous in its finish. The shine of this piece is mirrored by the subtle polished brass detailing three quarters of the way up the piece, but with a more recognisably classic feel.
