Description
When we go to sleep at night, we rest assured that our prized possessions are kept in a safe place, just in reach of us and we enter rest. The bedside table, therefore, takes on a symbolic significance that is often greater than its stature. The designers of the Matteo bedside table, however, seem acutely aware of this fact and strive to create an experience that is as significant as this thought suggests each time we go to bed.
Formed predominantly from a central wooden frame, the Matteo bedside table is rooted in natural materiality and assured structural integrity. The drawers are then upholstered in a texturally contrasting leather that provides a soft and sensuous touch to hands with their woven leather handles. The interior of these drawers are finished with a similar wooden and leather finish in the name of continuity. With the possibility of incorporating electrical sockets and metal cable housing, this piece is an elegant solution to questions of storage. It is then, last but certainly not least, that the table top formed of marble takes centre stage, delighting the eyes with its bright textural maturity and the magnificent natural formations that adorn its surfaces.
