Description
Mount Iraya is an active volcano in the Philippines, whose geological forces, together with the strong waves of sea and time, have created a unique and fascinating shoreline full of large smooth boulders on the beach nearby. Taking its inspiration from the curvy silhouette of this naturally occurring spectacle, the designers of the Iris headboard take great pleasure in playing with organic shapes and sensuous materials to add a breath of natural life to any bedrooms ambience.
Formed into four defined yet unquestionably varied panels, this headboard delights in resisting the typical limits of rigidly designed forms. Arranged alongside one another in varying heights, the cushioned panels of this headboard frame the bed in a manner that has a presence more akin to the fluid world of dreams than of cold minimal design. The fully upholstered surfaces of this gelatinous headboard only act to enhance the fluidity and sensuousness of the piece as it provides a smoothness that is both visual and tactile. Gentle patterns adorn the exterior of this velvet providing a seemingly endless patchwork upon its surface, reminiscent of the textures of the natural world under foot or, going deeper, the tectonic plates that make up the volcanic landscape that inspires this piece.
