Description
The Dacki probably started life as a bed, but at some point in its lifetime it decided that being perfectly serviceable and practical wasn’t enough. It decided that it must become much more than a bed and that is why it stands alone as a perfectly and wholly unique piece of art, not just furniture. The base at first glance looks like a large slab of stone that has been perfectly rounded and eroded by the flow of a gentle river over a period of years. But this stone is not hard or rough, it’s soft and inviting and luxurious. It rests atop four very flat stands which hold it aloft just above the floor. The natural themes are continued in the backboard design. This is where the bed stops being just a functional piece of furniture and becomes a piece that will have a transformative effect on any approach to interior design. It’s at least twice as wide as the bed and arches up at about three times the height behind it. The design is free formed, comprised of deep fluctuating curves. The top and bottom parts are patterned with a vertical natural wooden grain effect. The central vein is made from the same faux pebbled material as the bed. All of these sections are framed by a glowing golden margin of polished brass.
