There is something almost inexplicable about circles and what they evoke in a person. Perhaps it’s their natural perfectness, their lack of sharp angles, who knows. One thing is for certain though, when used as an element of design they can enhance whatever it is they are built into. Of course, the Harlan barstool is no exception to this. With the brushed brass circle that joins the dark oak legs almost as if it’s hovering between them, perhaps even representing an idea of mirrored reality or the duality of the perfect in nature and the perfect in the design, as the circle is incorporated into the stool as if modelled off of the moon.
The implementation of circles doesn’t stop with the brass rings either, as the cushion itself continues the theme and elevates the Harlan chair from an object of beauty, to an object of beauty and immense comfort. The curve of the seat allowing one’s back to rest comfortably without strain for hours on end, be it at the start, middle, or end of your day.
