Gold is the order of the day, and not just gold linings. The monolithic table top that rests defiantly askew to its base, is lavishly draped in the glossiest, shimmering gold leaf. Pierced only momentarily by a sliver of its base that protrudes from one corner of the otherwise flawless golden top. This detail manages to break the dominance of the top. Only marble could hold its own in a sea of gold, and the stunning emperador marble detail somehow manages to both contest and complement its gold settings. Beneath the extravagant top is an equally robust setting, cast, of course, of the finest emperador marble polished to a sparkling sheen. The two extravagant elements, vie for dominance and yet somehow find a perfect balance, choosing instead to enrich and reinforce their opposition’s beauty.
