Description
Contemporary design has made a name for itself for challenging our preconceptions and forcing us to imagine new possibilities through intuitive, intriguing craft. The Utasha centre table exudes everything that it means to be unashamedly modern, whilst maintaining a sense of classical luxury through the array of esteemed materials on display. An unusual and yet inspiring centre piece, the designers of this piece, despite all of its modern merits, drew inspiration from the peculiar shapes of the Moab pools in the Utah desert.
The silhouette of this piece lays out its intentions clearly from the very outset. Its bold shapes and jagged edges announce the piece into the room in loud, expressive gestures that resist our traditional notions of what a ‘table’ should be. It is a particularly dazzling move, then, that such a tabletop would be crafted from Lavrador granite, Rosa Aurora marble, Arcan granite, Marinace granite and Creme Pardais marble, as the natural world is brought into direct harmony with brute modernism. The foundation of the piece is no different in its approach, as sharp and definitive lines are drawn in polished Estremoz marble that offers a monochromatic and bright base to this truly outstanding piece.
