Description
The bookcase is amongst the most traditional and fantastical features of a homes interior design. Known as the hub of all things creative and magical, it is a site of relaxation and splendour. The Maarika bookcase, through a rejection of traditional forms associated with the bookcase, seeks and succeeds in creating a piece that is as brilliant as the worlds inside a books pages. The result is a singularly unique feature piece for any modern living space.
Immediately striking, this piece is constructed from an array of interlocking geometric lines that paint themselves upon space that they are inhabiting. Seven boldly horizontal wooden shelves provide the main structural feature of this piece and carve out strong, textural lines for the eyes to follow. Dividers made from a luscious combination of shining metal and moulded leather give a vertical variety to the visual field of the piece and create intuitive storage opportunities throughout the piece. Then, a decorative feature panel adorns the exterior of the piece to both alluringly conceal that which lies beneath its surfaces and also to radiate outwards into the room with its glowing metallic surfaces. An assertive and brilliant piece in both its materials and its form, there really is no better example of a modern bookcase.
