Description
This piece, named after the naturally occurring mineral, draws its influence from the organic nature of the world that we inhabit. The Horton dining chair, however, is not comfortable with simply fitting in to the order of things as it demands to be noticed through its utterly singular design. Employing the tenets of modern and minimalist design, whilst not abandoning the splendour of nature, this piece is a truly balanced and sophisticated addition to any dining space.
Formed of multiple straight lines, in the most part, this piece is recognisably a piece of contemporary furniture design through its bold and assured simplicity. However, the straight lines that dominate this piece only act to emphasise the two expertly crafted and extremely soothing slopes that form each of the armrests. These armrests, along with the backrest, are every bit as smooth as their form due to their sensuous black leather finish which is a partial nod to nature and a massive homage to the sensuous world of glamour. Contrasting with this leather is the visually and materially soft cotton velvet of the cushion, before ending with a slick and sophisticated wood of the legs. As if this wasn’t enough, the silver edging on display adds a shining surface to this already magical piece.
