Description
The name haiden undersells what is actually being presented here. A haiden only regards the vessel. Appropriate for most cabinets, but with this piece in particular a focus on the idea of emptiness simply doesn’t do justice to the feat of design that comprises this luxury piece of furniture. It’s hard to imagine a space that the Haiden cabinet would not fit perfectly into. It not only compliments its surroundings but enriches them. The contrast of the upper and lower halves couldn’t be more pronounced, or central to the overall effect.
The top is weighty and luxurious with both the sides and doors being carved from a walnut wood, finished with a glossy shimmering veneer. The walnut is deep and grounding, and the doors remain almost flawless were it not for the inclusion of a natural cut pattern that runs the length of the point at which the two doors meet. This peeled effect offers a glimpse of the rich aged brass that sits beneath it. The luxury that is apparent on the outside runs true on the inside as well. Shelves and drawers are lined with a thin polished brass piping and all surfaces are finished to the same standard of walnut veneer. The bottom half remains oppositional simple, almost defiant in its hollow framing yet still providing a resolute and masculine setting that allows attention to remain firmly on what is held above.
