Description
The magician’s illusions power lies in its ability to disrupt our expectations. It plays upon the delicacy of our visual senses and then reveals previously hidden truths, causing us to rethink our experiences from a position of wonder. The Dionne is, by this definition, a masterful piece of furniture design as it plays upon our senses and revels in the viewers experiences of joy as its surfaces are simultaneously soothing and deceiving.
This wall-mounted storage solution employs minimalist simplicity to appeal to our senses of soothing and sleek design, only to reveal its depths in a subtle but utterly jaw-dropping fashion. The large panel that makes up the majority of this piece acts as a material base, that is available in various materials, that provides depth and creates a feature for the room. Upon this panel are five fitted box units, formed of a delightfully clear glass, for storing any number of books, trinkets or ornaments for display like a fine art museum. From the front, or from the side, the lines of these protruding glass boxes coalesce or flatten out against the panel completely warping the eyes’ sense of depth and at times making those objects held inside these containers appear as if they are defying gravity, simply floating there.
Available in black, white, walnut and a mirrored version.
