Description
Coal has fascinated the mind of designers and producers alike for thousands and thousands of years now, both due to its blackest of blacks and its ability turn negative energy into positive, productive force. Conceptually this aligns itself nicely with the tenets of design minimalism, as the reductive approach to form and structure is seen as a way to express bold confidence and elevated beauty, rather than a sense of shying away. The Caddo dining table, with this in mind, is the quintessential minimalist piece for any room that is memorable in its subtle power.
Formed of three assured and matte finished panels of Smoked Eucalyptus and deep brown lacquered wood, this piece has a simple and serene silhouette that announces its form into any living space, whilst soothing the sense in its certainty. These large panels, though simple in their form evoke powerful responses as they allow the eyes to revel upon the grain of the wood on offer and elevate any feature decorations to centre stage. The monochrome palette is adorned at four memorable points with brushed brass detailing, which in stark contrast to the dark hue of the piece appear unfathomably shiny and increased in their luxurious ambience.
