The Bartek side table’s design was put together in order to reflect the nature that influenced its intention. It’s diminutive, modest appearance lends to its endearing qualities. But when something is this beautiful, in all of its simplicity, it doesn’t need all of the extra and unnecessary
additions and embellishments. The form of the piece is based on an African tribal drum, the rhythms of which are palpable at a glance. Its unassuming design also adds to its adaptability.
The design is muted enough to fit well, and compliment other furniture in an eclectic range of approaches to interior design. The base is made of three stout curved legs that begin fastened to the top of the table, before running the same paths and meeting at the base. The top of the table is formed from an upturned half sphere, the bottom half formed of the same material as the rest of the piece, and the table top itself formed of hammered aged, brass, embossed, with a light granular pattern that echoes the same beautiful simplicity of the rest of the piece. The fastenings that sit at the top of each leg are made of aged brass and the rest of the table is finished in a distinctive ebony veneer adding a classic quality to this beautiful piece of modern interior design.
