However, the best of designers know this to be a lie. To be contemporary in the world of luxury design is to bring the past into the future, to learn the lessons of greats that have come before and reframe them in a modern way. The Anahita armchair is an exemplary expression of this impulse, as it pays homage to the luxury of midcentury in a way that is undeniably new.
Starting at the base of the piece, the armchair sits atop four expertly crafted wooden legs that are gently curved to emphasise their natural surfaces. The internal backrest and seat are then sensuously upholstered in a delightful muted fabric that is a clean, versatile and bright addition to any room. Wrapping itself around the armchair, the backrest finished in plissé leather curves to form two armrests in one sweeping and sleek movement. With a finish that could only be completed by modern masters, the leather exterior is punctuated with vertical detailing that run counter to the leather belt and buckle that creates a focal point at the heart of the piece.
