The overriding power of this piece lies in its ability to draw us in. The central body of the piece is an act of deceit that is seductive in its formal make up. The central body of the piece is made up of an interior metallic finish that shines at the heart of this piece, immediately grabbing our eyes. However, this central feature is enshrouded by two delicately curved leather panels that almost disguise the glowing centre of the piece, piquing our intrigue. Once drawn in the material quality of the leather and the fabulous, abundant wooden surface of the table top hold our attention with their textural majesty. The deep tones and layers of the wooden surface speak to our sense of mid-century luxury and excite the eyes as they dance across the pieces surface. This is only emphasised by the contrasting decorative metallic centre of this piece which gives us a focal point to constantly return to.
